Museum of the North

University of Alaska's Museum of the North is home to a plethora of impressive artifacts, specimens, and collections downstairs that the public has access to, but is unaware of. We were approached to create a graphic symbol and campaign to spread this knowledge to current students and visitors alike.


To kick off our concept, we brainstormed on a logo that would signify something that is 90% hidden: an iceberg.

We designed this in a friendly, fun, clean approach to encourage students and the public to wander downstairs to view the collections. The unique architecture of the museum lended itself well to represent the "tip of the iceberg," while each department of research is shown on their own plane beneath the horizon.
